The 2011 Albuquerque Fiber Arts Fiesta is the 8th biennial show dedicated to fiber arts education and to the display of fiber-related artwork. The Fiesta is May 26-27-28, 2011, at the Manual Lujan Complex at Expo New Mexico (formerly known as the State Fair Grounds) in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The event includes juried and judged exhibits organized by 17 co-sponsoring New Mexico fiber arts guilds. Based on previous years’ events, the 2011 Fiesta expects to attract more than 600 exhibit entry applications and more than 4000 attendees. The Fiesta is host to a vendor mall, fashion shows, guild and vendor demos, classes and workshops, educational exhibits and a solo show by a featured artist, Arley Berryhill, doll artist and costumer. A Centennial exhibit of New Mexico-made textiles circa 1912 and Centennial artist, nnative New Mexican colcha embroiderer Beatrice Maestas Sandoval will be another special draw. Hosted by the Albuquerque Fiber Arts Council, Inc. (AFAC), a 501-c3 tax-exempt, non-profit organization, the biennial Fiesta is the major fund-raiser for the Albuquerque Fiber Arts Council, Inc. For further info on classes, events, vendors and entry details, contact info@fiberartsfiesta.org.
8th Biennial Albuquerque Fiber Arts Fiesta, Albuquerque, NM is a post from: New Mexico Tourism
